I have labored over this piece for several months. Doing a bit here and there in the background of my other work. The cast lilac pods were the inspiration behind everything. I created a series of small pieces with the lilac pods, tiny citrine, and stamped shapes. I knew I wanted these to embellish something special, so I created a center piece from cast cicada wings. The wings are free moving, and conceal a beautiful aquamarine stone. The wings move about with the wearer, occasionally allowing the aquamarine to peak through when worn.
The chain was completely handmade. It’s completed length is 21” long, it can be clasped at smaller intervals on the chain, or I can adjust the chain to any smaller length preferred.
